The origin of Myrkwood
Passionate since my childhood by the medieval and fantastic universes, I grew up in the middle of the legends of chivalry and ancient myths. Being older, I discovered ren faire and quickly built a medieval outfit.
Having also always loved to create beautiful things, it was quite quickly that the idea of creating my own pieces sprouted. First for me and my relatives, I then wanted to offer my creations to the public : this is how Myrkwood Creations was born.
With Myrkwood, I want to offer more than simple leather accessories, but the fruit of my imagination, my passion and my sense of detail. This is why I take great care in inventing and making each piece, thinking about the smallest details to create with my hands a one-of-a-kind object. It is in this idea that I naturally made the choice to offer tailor-made services to my customers, so that my expertise concretizes their desires, for an accessory of their own.
Myrkwood in legends
Long before designating the forest of Darkness in the universe of J.R.R Tolkien, Myrkwood was the great dark forest (Myrkviðr in Old Norse) of Germanic tales. It is an ancient forest, probably the ancient Hercynian forest which barred Europe from east to west several thousand years ago. Border between the world of humans and that of the gods, this forest was the residence of mythical beings such as the blacksmith Völundr, but also a refuge for many peoples of the Bronze Age.
